Hello, I’m Roxana. Once upon a time, I did a BA in Fine Arts at Wits University in South Africa, majoring in painting and art criticism. A few global moves and different careers later, life delivered an unexpected blow.
In search for new meaning, I rediscovered my love of art and an interest in illustration. I grew up watching Looney Tunes and reading Asterix & Obelix , but I also had a taste for the melodramatic as a teenager being particularly fond of film noir. What excites me about children’s illustration is its endless creative possibilities.
I particularly enjoy losing myself in experimentation and sketching people. Capturing that personality, an interaction or emotion quickly is always the challenge. I get inspired by nature, all kinds of museums, zoos, exhibitions, travels and life in general.
