Rachel bostick  (SHE/HER)

Hello! I’m Rachel, a native of Austin, Texas currently based in Cambridge. After getting a BFA in design and working as a book designer moonlighting as an illustrator, I decided it was time to take the leap and move across the pond to pursue my MA in Children’s Book Illustration.

I enjoy combining expressive linework, textural printmaking, and muted color palettes to create images full of moody atmosphere and gothic romanticism. My work is inspired by a lifelong love of faerie tales, horror films, and a fascination with the 19th century, along with whatever my current hyperfixation may be. Recent hyperfixations have included gardening, season 2 of Bridgerton, and photographing quirky door knockers around Cambridge.
