Pin-Hsuan Chen (she/her)

Hi, I’m Pin from Taiwan. Holding a BA in History and a minor in Japanese Literature, I have always been fascinated by stories and cultures from the past, and I’m always eager to create my own stories through the medium of drawing. Thus, I came to Cambridge to study on the MA in Children's Book Illustration, learning picturebook making and visual storytelling.

I enjoy combining mixed media, mark-making, and bright colours to build an energetic atmosphere in my illustrations. I especially like oil pastels, which remind me of the pure happiness of drawing from my childhood. My inspiration mostly comes from history and the scenes I see while travelling.
