Naomi Bennet (she/her)

Naomi is an illustrator based in the UK. After graduating from her BA in illustration from Cardiff School of Art and Design, and beginning work as a freelance illustrator, Naomi enrolled on the MA to dive into this vast sea of children's-book knowledge. She spends most of her time painting, going on muddy walks and getting lost in her imagination.

Naomi loves making images that explore the experiences and imaginings of a child. She constantly seeks ways to draw the reader into the feelings within a story. This may be through printmaking, painting or drawing - whatever the medium, she plays with composition and texture to craft the feeling she seeks.

She is forever inspired by the simple things that bring us joy, the experiences of difficult or sensitive emotions, and the adventures of daily life.

Paige’s Saturday

A story about the simple things that bring us joy, about wanting to look out for others, and about how we can find hope when things don’t go to plan.

The Grandest View

"At Frieda’s favourite time, the moonlight brings the world outside to life..."

A story and a journey, exploring how familiar places can be transformed by a little bit of imagination, and perhaps a bit of magic too.

Swallows and Amazons

Speculative illustrations for this classic tale by Arthur Ransome. A story about four children on holiday sailing and camping on a lake. The story follows their war and alliance with another pair of children, and the adventures and battles they experience that summer.
