Maeve Silvia Mulligan Nolan (she/her)

Maeve began studying ballet at the age of two and went on to train as a professional ballet dancer. After an injury cut her training short at 19 she began academic study in Art History and Archaeology of Africa and Asia. After spending much time drawing alongside obtaining a PhD, Maeve decided to study illustration at Cambridge School of Arts.

Her studies and childhood have had a large impact on the style of her work influencing her use of pattern and love of people watching. Maeve has a passion for the idiosyncrasies of the people and animals and world she sees around her. Her stories and accompanying illustrations lean heavily on the strange and absurd things that can be found in the mundane, as well as the magic of culture, history and legend.
