Luis Lopez (he/hIM)

Luis is a Colombian Illustrator based in the UK. He completed his undergraduate degree in Filmmaking and later worked as a digital illustrator for animation.

His journey has always been about exploring visual languages to bring new stories to life, and as a children’s book illustrator, he decided to focus on the ones that evocate feelings, help to understand them and produce relatedness. Being in this course has allowed him to find a new voice to do that, one that’s finally thinking less and recognises the goosebumps that are only felt when you trust yourself.

He enjoys combining different materials and using printmaking as a main part of his process, finding emotions and looseness in the monoprint marks, the use of light, perspective and colour. In his free time, you can find him in the Cinema, reading graphic novels or saying hi to dogs on the street.
