Katharine Wren Walker (she/her)
Hello, Iām Katharine Wren, an illustrator living in Sussex with my partner and daughters. I strive to build atmosphere and create a strong sense of place in my work, and I love detail and a hint of magic.
My ideas are rooted in my preoccupations with midnight gardens, old houses and things found under floorboards. Currently I enjoy layering pastel and pencil crayon to produce a soft, tonal aesthetic, and developing vibrant characters to tell my stories.
Most of my career has been in TV, a fast-paced environment where teamwork, efficient organisation and clear communication have been crucial; this background has helped me to be super resilient and take many risks on my illustration journey.
I enjoy working in black and white as well as colour, and would love to work on my own projects and collaborate with other authors.
