Katarina Dragoslavic (she/her)
Hello, I’m Katarina. I’m an illustrator and designer, based in London. I grew up on an island in Croatia. My interest in art and drawing led me to study graphic design in Pula, Croatia, and then Fine Art at the Academy in Bologna. After completing my BA in Italy, I moved to London and started working in children’s books publishing as I always had a passion for it. After becoming a parent, I started working as a freelance designer, mostly from home.
I love developing fictional characters and setting them off on different adventures.
I work with both, traditional mediums and digitally and often combine them. My work ranges from intricate and realistic portrayals with an element of mystery to whimsical and straightforward comic illustrations.
My picture book ‘The Little Hungry Dinosaur’ won the 2022 Stratford/Salariya Children’s Picture Book Prize.

This is a story about freedom. Despite being on holiday, Ludwig feels constrained by the constant instructions and obligations imposed on him. Frustrated with his lack of autonomy, Ludwig begins yearning for a sense of freedom and fun.
