Hi, I am Forest Xiao, an image maker, storyteller, and treasure finder. I have lived in many parts of the world which formed who I am today. I love connecting with people and collecting stories.

The visual metaphor is my favourite artistic language. I like to invite happy colours, talking lines, and childlike shapes onto my paper. I want to create stories that convey a sense of wonder. As a newbie parent, motherhood has brought so many new flavours onto my ‘plate’. With some, I turned into silly baby books to have a laugh and celebrate the sparkles in the mundane. When I travel, my sketchbook is my camera. I especially like to draw food stalls, street markets, and just ordinary people doing ordinary things. Drawing has taught me to observe and live in the moment.
