Esther Coombs (she/her)
Hi, I’m Esther Coombs, I’m based in Kent.
I love layering printing, drawing and digital tools in my artwork, using colour as a storyteller. I might weave in a fact or two or create a little twist and I’m always looking to get a giggle in my stories.
My previous illustration experience is mostly based in public art and children’s activity books and non-fiction. Including an award-winning cookbook series. But as a result of the course, I’m keen to work on more narrative fiction for picture books and board books.
I am an associate lecturer at the University of Creative Arts - Canterbury and work for Animate Arts a charitable organisation focused on getting more art in primary schools by training teachers and directly working with children on ambitious art works.
