Emma Bennett (she/her)

Emma is an Illustrator and Author based in Cambridge (UK).

Having lived in cities for the past 50 years, from Birmingham to London, via Wuhan, China, it is the urban environment and the people who live within it that particularly inspire Emma’s illustration and storytelling. With a sketchbook always in her bag, it is the less gentrified side of the city which she is most drawn to, never happier when drawing a skip, crain or a building.

With 25 years working in the education and creative industry, Emma has published 8 books for adults with Bloomsbury, which show iconic cities through the eyes of the artists they inspire. The opportunity to explore her first love of children's picture books through the MA, has seen her experimenting with a range of mediums. Bringing materials, techniques and mark making together to create mixed-media illustrations brings great joy.
