Emily Bornoff (she/her)

Emily Bornoff, originally from London, loves to draw and travel the world, taking in the patterns, colours and history of places. Growing up around Antiques in her father’s shop was definitely a catalyst for her journey as an illustrator.

Emily loves to illustrate folk tales and myths as well as print and paint images of animals and the worlds around them. Obsessed with Mid Century art, work by Matisse, Dufy, Vuillard, Bonnard, Derain, Roger Duvoisin, Mary Fedden, Bawden, print textures, ink, paint, pastels and pencils…

She draws and paints wherever possible, and loves the fast marks and textures you achieve when working quickly. Drawing people, animals, landscapes, buildings, and still life. They all feed into the book illustration work, and turn up in the pages of her stories.

Emily spends her time creating print designs for textiles and designing picture books and children’s fiction, when she’s not thinking up stories and pictures for them.
